Real Estate Agent Job Description

Real Estate Agents with Prudential Homesale Services Companies

The objective of the Prudential real estate agent position is to list properties and increase the firm's inventory. Additionally, the real estate agents will strive to sell properties -- primarily Prudential HomeSale Services Group's inventory and secondarily, other real estate firms' inventory. Finally, the real estate agent should assist in the recruitment of new real estate agents and work in harmony with existing real estate agents in order to increase business opportunities for all.

Responsibilities of a real estate agent

  • Career Prompt attendance at Sales Meeting and Listing Tour.
  • Absolute honesty and adherence to the Code of Ethics of the National Association of REALTORS as well as the Prudential Homesale Services Group Policy and Procedure Guide.
  • Determined, reliable, professional, and timely service to Clients and customers.
  • Effective goal setting, conversion of goals to a daily Business Plan, and effective execution of that Plan.
  • Accessibility and availability to clients and customers (beyond normal business hours if necessary). A 50-hour work week involving 2 evenings weekly and 2 weekends monthly is typical.
  • Sufficient sales results to allow the firm to cover it's overhead plus generate a reasonable profit. Following apprenticeship, this is minimally 15 closings per year.

  • Prospecting
  • Contacting friends, relatives, neighbors, acquaintances, etc.
  • Contacting "For Sale By Owners"
  • Contacting Expired Listings of other firms.
  • Handling customer inquiries during "Floor Time"
  • Sunday Open Houses
  • Direct Mail efforts
  • Telemarketing as allowed by law
  • Responding to Company-generated leads (Internet; Relocation; Hotline; etc)
  • Networking at clubs, societies, groups, etc.
  • Interviewing customers and clients.
  • Selecting and showing properties.
  • Referring potential new agents to Management.
  • Obtain continuing education
  • Become active in the local Association of Realtors®.
  • Attend Closings
  • Prepare and process transaction files.
  • Support the firms Mortgage and Title subsidiaries
  • Attend mortgage applications
  • Prepare Marketing Plans and Price evaluations
  • Order and obtain inspections and certifications.
  • Ongoing communication with customers and clients.
  • Preparing and negotiating Agreements to Purchase.

Performance Evaluation and Review

  • Real estate career Counseling-weekly, monthly, then periodically.

  • Feedback questionnaires sent to each client following Closing.
  • General feedback from Prudential Sales staff, Prudential support staff, and Prudential Management
